Urgency of the research. The introduction of lifelong learning is an urgent need for human survival in the context of a modern civilization that seeks sustainable development or coevolution with nature. It is substantiated that objective processes of social development influence for reform and innovative updating of educational technologies. The virtual university is such resource that allows us to solve the maximum of the tasks of educational development with minimal investment.
Target setting. Implementation of the virtual university idea is an important issue of contemporary education discourse. This process contains a complex of problems of legal, psychological, economic, pedagogical and social nature. Realization of any idea, even under unequivocal justification of its importance and expediency, requires a harmonization of huge amount of detail. Searching for the optimal model of the virtual university together with the necessity to fit it into the general context of the social and political structure of a particular region, state, educational space as such is also a complex and ambiguous issue.
Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. K. Edwards analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of a virtual university, which is a natural link in the evolution. L. Vlaceanu and J. L. Davies discover the transformation of classical university into virtual. S. Guri-Rosenblit distinguishes models of distance education at a virtual university. F. Terrazas-Arellanes, L. Strycker, E. Walden, and A. Gallard discover the problem of the 21st century skills formation at the virtual university. The features of organization of the cloud-based educational and research environment were researched by Ukrainian researchers (V. Bykov, A. Hurzhii, O. Spirin, M. Shyshkina and others).
The research objective. The authors aimed to discover the problem of rethinking the role and content of educational processes through the prism of forming a virtual university concept as a lifelong-learning strategy implementation.
The statement of basic material. The concept of the virtual university is relatively new and it is necessary to distinguish a number of contradictory points in its verification. Firstly, it is the quality of the education received. The problem of educational process content at the virtual university, organization of control and level of accomplished tasks, issues of intellectual abilities and critical thinking development, reflexivity of consciousness are the subject of heated discussions of both the supporters and opponents of the virtual university idea. Secondly, there is the question of the way of thinking. The virtual space involves a network mode of organization characterized by openness of the structure, poly-variability of determination and expediency of modal logic. The phenomenon of virtual university is the result of responding to the needs of social transformation. In such model, the content of the social roles of the teacher and the student changes significantly. The competence of the modern teacher is not limited to knowledge. After all, the most experienced academician is not able to absorb all the information in a certain science, and obviously loses in the volume of assimilated information to any search engine.
Conclusions. The main problem of modern education lies in the fundamental inability of a specialist perfect preparation to the changing social and cultural context and impossibility to predict the state of technologies, even in the near future. In addition, contradiction between understanding of learning as a business proposal in response to available demand, or a profitable investment in future social and economic well-being and traditional ideas of education as formation of a personality in accordance with a cultural model and ideal leads to a general trend of dehumanization of education. Solution of this contradiction by a volitional choice is impossible. The fact is that virtualization of learning is already taking place. Therefore, we consider that learning should be understood as a way of life of a modern person. The virtual university is an adequate and effective model of formation of the 21st century skills requested by our dynamic society.

Urgency of the research. The philosophy of education is a relatively new direction of the exclusive research attention of the humanities. Due to the fact that education has been the subject of philosophical analysis throughout the history of worldview research, such researches were rather contextual, fragmentary in nature against the background of issues of a more universal and global nature. With the rapid development of new technologies and artificial intelligence, the formation of information / digital society and knowledge economy, defining the role and importance of education as a social institution (a certain model of operational practices) changes significantly, which formed the relevance of our research.
Target setting. The range of the problem field of the philosophy of education balances between two extreme positions: defining the role of education in the life of an individual (the position of anthropocentrism) and understanding the importance of education in a broad social context (globalism). According to a number of questions about the nature and purpose of education, researchers distinguish between the ontology and epistemology of education, the logic and axiology of educational processes, the history and methodology of educational technologies conceptualizing educational institutionalism.
Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. For the most part, analyzing the problematic field of philosophy of education in the context of institutionalism, we relied on the research of well-known modern scientists: Anthony Giddens, John Clark, Finn Thorbjørn Hansen, Carlo Ricci, Martin B. Carstensen & Vivien A. Schmidt, Christine R. Stenersen & Tine S. Prøitz etc. In the context of substantiation of the subject of this study (values, tolerance, trust) attention was focused on the works of Jürgen Habermas, Milton Rokeach, Zygmunt Bauman, Piotr Sztompka and others.
The research objective. Education is simultaneously a process, system, value, social institution, etc., which shapes both the individual and its meaning, place, role in society. This variable ratio of individual and universal-essential contains a dialectical contradiction. Thus, the task of the study is to substantiate a possible model for resolving this contradiction within a stable worldview paradigm, the verification of which is carried out by the philosophy of education as a separate area of worldview research.
The statement of basic material. The main function of education is to broadcast the content and values of culture. This mission is especially important in modern society, when information and possession of it can be used as a positive factor in self-realization and success of man, community, or project, and as a manipulative or simply destructive factor in relation to the subject and society. That is why critical thinking and dialogical model of communication are defined as fundamental principles of the modern paradigm of education.
Conclusions. The values of freedom, tolerance and trust determine the integral essence of the current state of society, or at least its desired configuration. Philosophy of education in the context of the problem of social institutionalization, as a specific synthesized knowledge, combines worldview, pedagogical, sociological, historical and other techniques and approaches to carry out a critical and sound analysis of the content of ideational components of educational practices and strategies.

Urgency of the research problem. The problem of consciousness, soul, individuality and personality, its ways of life and interaction with the world and its own kind have been the main research focus of worldview research throughout history. The information society is characterized by the total expansion of the virtual one into the socio-cultural dynamics of modernity, which has a direct impact on the format of formation and definition of subjectivity. Therefore, it is appropriate to consider the need to determine the specifics of the impact that the virtual has on the subjectivity, models of its identification and interaction with the Other as an urgent issue of modern humanities.
Target setting. The problem of essential change in the constants of determination of subjectivity under the influence of the widespread use of virtual reality technologies to the course of daily practices of the modern individual.
Actual scientific research and issues analysis. Phenomenological concepts presented in the works of E. Husserl, J.-P. Sartre and M. Heidegger, note temporality as a fundamental attribute of subjectivity. Authors of the ontology of the first person, D. Dennett, J. Searle, and S. Chavier, determine the procedures for constituting meaning by the constant formation of subjectivity. This position is closely correlated with the hermeneutic theories of subjectivity presented in the works of W. Dilthey, P. Reeker and G. Gadamer. J. McRoberts, O. Elkhova, S. Horujy, S. Turkle, M. Savin-Baden and L. Falconer, P. H. Cheong and K. Gray, D. Doyle and T. Kim and others study the problem of influence virtual reality technologies on current configurations of subjectivity.
The research objective. To analyze the current problem field of the specifics of the influence of the virtual space on the modern image of subjectivity and strategies of its interaction in the socio-cultural space.
The statement of basic material. The modern development of technologies, both mass media and virtual reality, declare the mobility of the boundaries of private and public life. This fact proves the existence of a significant number of social networks, branding and image technologies, biometrics, and profiling of employees of high-tech corporations, big data technologies, cookies, and the Social Credit System in China. The scale of this phenomenon is explained by the collision of two trends which are oriented against each other: on the one hand, subjectivity seeks to maximize expression and self-presentation in cyberspace, and on the other hand, stakeholders, guided by economic, political, religious, and other motives use published information for pragmatic influence on subjectivity, first of all, manipulative one. The strategy of the morality of the virtual world provides a wide range of assessments: from identification with the Stoic principles of ataraxia and autarky to the accusations of irresponsibility, impersonality and escapism. Therefore, we consider it appropriate to define the modern type of actualization and representation of subjectivity as transversal, i. e. complex, contradictory, integrative and motivated by certain intentions and aspirations of the person.
Conclusions. Subjectivity in cyberspace is represented as an avatar, by praxis of the mythopoetic tradition of self-identification. Given this playful and conditional nature of the representation of subjectivity, there is a mobility of the boundaries of private and public in modern culture, or in the accustoming of the world to the social content of subjectivity. That is the kind of specific features of modern subjectivity give grounds to affirm its transversal character, that is, the situational integrity of a set of individual factors in accordance with the pragmatics of thought and action.

Urgency of the research. Once Ukraine has joined Bologna process, a lot of scholars started to conduct comparative studies of European educational standards. At the same time American education standards do not get attention they deserve, regardless a fact that it is American Universities often rated in the top in various world ratings. Historically it was the Protestant Branch of Christianity that laid foundational principles even in the world-recognized Universities like Harvard. “Faith-base” educational institutions founded by the Protestants of Ukraine in their early years applied American educational standards. Thus, any research in this area will have scientific novelty by default.
Target setting. Mentioned subject field is not well-researched and that creates an outstanding need to increase co-operation with “faith-based” higher educational institutions, study their best practices and make attempts to scale the best achievements.
Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. Some individual researchers point out to a fact that although most of Europe’s Universities were once founded by Protestant groups, by 1980 practically none of the Protestant Universities are functioning in Europe. Some researchers point to the typical distortions of the well-known phrase about the “dividing wall between the church and the state” - others describe the unjustified tendency of synonymous use of the terms “secularism” and “atheism”. However, apart from isolated studies of American standards of education quality, virtually no researcher examines the Ukrainian experience of implementing American standards of higher education by domestic Protestants for the purpose of scaling up.
The research objective. Identify basic foundational principles of education laid down by Protestants, recognize their implementation in Ukraine and suggest ways to scale them.
The statement of basic materials. Author is examining three most common typical principles that influenced the educational system of the USA and argues that scaling those principles along with the experience of “faith-based” higher educational institutions may be helpful.
Conclusions. Thus, practically all of the Protestant higher educational institutions were able to demonstrate that it is possible to apply the most valuable principles in Ukrainian realities, such as formation of the higher educational institutions that become providers of high-quality education without subsidy from the State; ability to screen future students during admission and screen faculty without being corrupted; forming responsible and integrated Christian community that interacts with the larger society; uncompromised enactment of the worldview values, keeping schools’ image, constructing adaptive system of education that takes into consideration requests of all the stakeholders of spiritual education. The author argues that everything stated above proves the significance of the further study of the issue with the purpose of scaling the best achievements.
