Urgency of the research. Protestant education in Ukraine and throughout Eastern Europe is gradually overcoming the crisis associated with the bureaucratization of educational processes and individualistic intentions of students. This overcoming was made possible by the discovery of the potential of communitarianism in the postmodern era for spiritual higher education. Communitarianism as a theory of communities assumes that the seminary is an educational and scientific-theological community that serves church communities. The development of communitarianism in today's theology contributes to a better understanding of the possibilities of collective leadership in teacher communities, seminary leadership communities, boards of trustees, and student communities. At the same time, the effective transition to a new state of education and upbringing is hampered by a number of problems and contradictions that are a consequence of the peculiarities of the development of collective leadership in Protestant education in the previous 30 years.
Target setting. The application of the provisions of community theology (communitarianism) to the understanding of seminaries as specific educational institutions, to the discovery of new prospects for the development of seminaries in general and the educational process in particular is critical. In the face of these new challenges, the Protestant education of Ukraine was burdened by the contradictions of the implementation of collective leadership, which are due to the peculiarities of the development of theological education in the last 25-30 years. Understanding these contradictions allows for the contextualization of the ideals of postmodern community leadership for Ukrainian Protestantism.
Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. Traditionally, assessments of the development of collective leadership in Protestant education were given from the standpoint of the worldview characteristic of the late modern era, when Ukrainian Protestantism temporarily took the form of hierarchical corporations. Under such conditions, much importance was attached to the characteristics of quantitative growth or decline. This led to the diagnosis of the state of spiritual education as a crisis, which is described in detail in the studies of S. Sannikov, O. Heichenko, O. Turlak, V. Chaplinsky. Attempts to give new impetus to the understanding of spiritual education as part of missionary activity, carried out by P. Penner, had only a limited effect. Only today, after 2014, the main indicators were qualitative indicators in assessing the development of spiritual education and upbringing. All this leads to the transformation of ideas about the prospects for the development of spiritual education and collective leadership in this area.
The research objective. The aim of the study is a comprehensive analysis of the growing awareness of seminar communities of the need for collective (community) leadership at different stages of Protestant education in the post-Soviet context, changing the forms of collective leadership, filling the content of such a formal structure as a board of trustees these contradictions.
The statement of basic materials. The emergence of Baptist seminaries in Ukraine was influenced by Western churches or missions and in some cases by the Ukrainian diaspora, which had lived outside Ukraine for a long time. The decisive influence was exerted by representatives of churches, educational institutions and Christian universities in the United States. Seminaries went through a number of stages of their own development, during which the forms of collective leadership changed. The first stage is the emergence of seminaries and the harmonization of seminars to unified standards. In the first stage, immediately after the seminary was established, they had very friendly relations with local churches, the programs were very flexible and responded to the needs of the churches. Church leaders saw these initiatives as part of church ministry. The second stage is the extensive development of seminaries, by which the author means the involvement of additional resources in the work of seminaries and the growth of seminaries, associated with the number of students, and for some seminaries - the opening of branches or field programs. This type of growth was also due to the fact that seminaries began to become more independent of national churches, and partnerships with Western organizations became more formalized, which was most often seen in the participation of Western partners in the board of trustees. The third period is a reassessment of the work of seminaries. The beginning of this period is largely related to the global economic crisis of 2007-2008, and its result was the resumption of dialogue between seminaries and churches. The fourth period - institutional changes - is associated with the reaction of the Ukrainian state to the Bologna process and the adoption of the new Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education". The process of preparation for state accreditation and formation of a culture of openness in the national educational environment has begun.
Conclusions. In general, at the stage of the emergence of evangelical seminaries in Ukraine and other countries of the EAAA accreditation association, the influence of Western organizations on the formation of boards of trustees or other governing boards was clear and significant. Most often, it was not direct, but indirect - through national leaders who in the process of learning or work experience encountered such a model of leadership. After 25 years of development and understanding of collegial leadership, we can conclude that boards of trustees have become a natural governing body for theological universities in Ukraine, but they have not taken a proactive position in all educational institutions and not all have become independent and fully national.

Urgency of the research. Orthodox social doctrine at the beginning of the XXI century became an arena of confrontation between humanistic and fundamentalist theological strategies, which directly affects the fate of social doctrine as an independent academic discipline and as part of Christian ethics. Today, the authority of the Catholic and Orthodox churches, the development of dialogue between religious and secular worldviews, and the fate of interreligious dialogue increasingly depend on the content and form of presentation of social doctrine. The significant development of Christian humanism of social teaching in Orthodoxy at the beginning of the XXI century in opposition to fundamentalism is only beginning to be analyzed by scholars, while this topic has great theoretical and practical significance for social philosophy, religious studies and philosophy of education.
Target setting. The formation of the theoretical foundations for the new Orthodox humanism within the social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate makes the task of systematic analysis of both the positive features of such humanism and its limits urgent. Since such humanism of the social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate is largely determined by the methodology of formation of social doctrine, it is important to analyze such a methodology. This analysis is important given that social teaching is only gradually being freed from the status of religious knowledge, which is proposed from the standpoint of authority, and acquires the features of classical scientific rationality, which may be acceptable in university discourse.
Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The discussion of the methodology of constructing social doctrine usually takes place only within the framework of the discussion on the struggle between the tendencies towards fundamentalism and liberalism. The emergence of a new social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in early 2020 led to a series of important discussions organized by the Greek Archdiocese in the United States and attended by leading Orthodox theologians of today, John Chryssavgis, Bishop Maxim Vasiljević, Professor Aristotle Papanikolaou, Hank Hanegraaff, Brandon Gallaher, Phil Dorroll, Carrie Frederick Frost, Philip Mamalakis, Nicolas Kazarian, Elizabetha Kitanovic, Professor George Demacopoulos, Martin Johnson, Gayle Woloschak & Dr. Tim Patitsas. However, the analysis of the main methodological features of the social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate has not yet been carried out.
The research objective. The aim of the study is an analysis of methodological principles of building the social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and compares them with the methodologies of social doctrines of other churches. The objectives of the article are to comprehend the peculiarities of the relationship between tradition and rationality, monologue and dialogue in the formation of social doctrine.
The statement of basic materials. Orthodox social doctrine as a discipline is formed without the elements of scholastic thinking that are characteristic of Catholicism. This is due to the fact that social doctrine in Orthodoxy is thought of as an expression of tradition, not the teaching of the church. Also, the methodology of the social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate was significantly influenced by the fact that the initial principle for all reflections was the value of the dignity of the individual. The absolutization of this value has made it possible to create a Christian humanism that opposes the ideological extremes of modern cultural wars, including the abuse of the idea of human rights. The ROC uses methodological anti-scholasticism in the construction of social doctrine to legitimize the ideas of Orthodox fundamentalism. Against this background, the social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate is becoming a worldview alternative, critical to the development of Ukrainian theology and education.
Conclusions. The new social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, proposed in March 2020, has significant methodological innovations. This social doctrine is new because of the deduction of all specific moral and legal principles from the main value of the dignity of the human person. A positive theological view of the historical perspective is also important. The formation of social doctrine ceases to be scholastic. The social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate is characterized by significant dialogue, a combination of communitarianism and personalism, missionary openness and social diakonia.

Urgency of the research. In the Roman Catholic Church, anthropology develops in close connection with the doctrine, but also enters in the plane of a broad dialogue with philosophical thought and the academic scientific community. The Magisterium Ecclesiae is a necessary starting point for systematized Catholic philosophical and theological theories in understanding human problems. Catholic anthropology has the task of combining official doctrine with philosophy. The official documents of the Apostolic See, which include encyclicals, reveal the most important topical issues, among which, of course, is the problem of man and his values.
Target setting. The encyclical of Pope John Paul II “Evangelium Vitae” immediately after its title “clarifies” to whom this message is addressed and what it says: “To the Bishops Priests and Deacon, Men and Women religious lay Faithful and all People of Good Will on the Value and Inviolability of Human Life”. This epigraph indicates that the presentation of its content applies to all people, because the problem of the value of human life is universal and eternal.
Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The main source for our study is the text of the encyclical “Evangelium Vitae”. In opening the topic of our article, we will also turn to the works of the eminent theologian Karl Rahner, whose influence on Catholic thought has been significant in recent decades. Some aspects of anthropological issues in the context of the value of human life will be explored on the basis of an analysis of the works of Cardinals Tarcisio Bertone and Marian Jaworski, as well as individual Ukrainian scholars.
The research objective. The aim of the article is to analyze the value of human life in the encyclical of Pope John Paul II “Evangelium Vitae”. The main objectives of our article are to reveal the main provisions of the encyclical in the general context of modern Catholic anthropology and to compare it with some theses of the Catholic theological doctrine of man.
The statement of basic materials. In the encyclical “Evangelium Vitae”, Pope John Paul II bases his message on the Scriptures, as is customary in formulating the doctrine or moral compendium of the Christian church. Jesus Christ, the mystery of the incarnation of the Logos, is the basis for understanding the value of human life from conception to natural death. The encyclical reveals attempts to reduce the value of life, which includes war, violence, abuse of bioethical aspects (abortion, euthanasia).
Conclusions. Recognition of the value of human life, to which the encyclical of Pope John Paul II “Evangelium Vitae” is dedicated, is the defining core of Catholic anthropology, which is based primarily on the mystery of the incarnation of Jesus Christ. The value of human life is a dimension that goes beyond confession into the space of universal humanism. The problem of ethical control in medical research and legal codes in the light of the value of human life requires a new stage of discussion today. The rather simplistic and catechetical form of the encyclical did not promote the acceptance by scientific community of theologians and philosophers for whom the works of, for example, Karl Rahner with his deeply synthesized style of penetrating the mystery of the existence of God and man are more convincing.
