Procedure for Handling Complaints Concerning Violations of Academic Integrity and Publication Ethics
The Editorial Office of the journal considers complaints concerning possible violations of academic integrity and publication ethics. A complaint shall be submitted in writing to the official e-mail address of the Editorial Office and shall include a description of the alleged violation, its justification, supporting evidence, and the complainant’s contact details.
Upon receipt, the complaint shall be registered and submitted for preliminary review to the Editor-in-Chief. Where necessary, a temporary commission may be established to examine the case, involving members of the Editorial Board and, if appropriate, independent experts. The author shall be given an opportunity to provide explanations.
Following the review, the Editorial Office shall adopt one of the following decisions:
- to dismiss the complaint if no confirmed violations are established;
- to initiate the publication of a correction if minor errors are identified;
- to retract the article if substantial violations of academic integrity are confirmed;
- to reject the manuscript if the violation is identified at the peer-review stage;
- where necessary, to notify the institution with which the author is affiliated or another interested organization.
An appeal against the decision may be submitted within 30 calendar days. To ensure objectivity, confidentiality, and fairness, the Editorial Office shall consider each complaint impartially, in accordance with the principles of academic integrity and the standards of publication ethics.

Authors retain copyright in their work and grant the journal the right of first publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence, which allows others to freely distribute the published work, provided that proper reference is made to the authors of the original work and to its first publication in this journal.
Authors have the right to enter into separate additional agreements concerning the non-exclusive distribution of the work in the form in which it was published by this journal, for example by placing the work in an institutional repository or publishing it as part of a monograph, provided that reference to the first publication of the work in this journal is maintained.
The author’s submission of their own materials for publication in the Licensee’s editions shall constitute acceptance of the terms of the Agreement set out below.
By this Agreement, the author confirms that the submitted material:
- does not infringe the copyright of other natural or legal persons;
- has not previously been published by other publishers and has not been submitted for consideration to other journals.
The rights transferred by the author to the Editorial Board of the collection include:
- publication of the article in English or Ukrainian and distribution of its printed version;
- translation of the article into English, where necessary for materials submitted in Ukrainian, and distribution of the printed version of such translation;
- dissemination of the electronic version of the article by any electronic means, including publication on the official website of the journal, in electronic databases, repositories, and similar platforms.
The author retains the right, without approval from the Editorial Board and the founders, to:
- use the materials of the article in full or in part for educational purposes;
- use the materials of the article in full or in part in preparing their own dissertation;
- use the materials of the article for preparing abstracts, conference papers, and oral presentations.
In all such cases, it is mandatory to provide a bibliographic reference to the article or a hyperlink to its electronic copy available on the official website of the collection.
Accordingly, the journal’s policy permits and encourages authors to post their manuscripts online, for example in institutional repositories or on personal websites, both before submission to the Editorial Office and during editorial processing, as this contributes to productive scholarly discussion and has a positive effect on the speed and dynamics of citation of the published work.
Public Agreement
on the Procedure for Publishing Authors’ Articles

- This Public Agreement, hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”, determines the procedure for publishing authors’ articles in the collection of scientific papers “Educational Discourse: Collection of Scientific Papers”.
- This Agreement constitutes a public offer in accordance with Article 633 of the Civil Code of Ukraine. The placement of the text of this Agreement on the official website of the collection of scientific papers “Educational Discourse: Collection of Scientific Papers” shall be deemed an offer addressed to an indefinite number of persons to conclude the Agreement under the terms set out herein.
- This Agreement shall be concluded by the author’s accession to its terms, that is, by the author’s full and unconditional acceptance of the terms of the Agreement without any reservations, exclusions, or additional conditions, in accordance with Article 642 of the Civil Code of Ukraine. Such accession shall take place after prior agreement of the article content between the author and the Editorial Office.
- Under this Agreement, the author shall act as the Licensor, and the publisher shall act as the Licensee.
- The author’s submission of their own materials for publication in the Licensee’s editions shall constitute acceptance of the terms of this Agreement.
- The author retains copyright in their work, while the publisher acquires the right of first publication under the Creative Commons Attribution International License CC BY, including the right to:
- publish articles in English and distribute their printed versions;
- translate articles into English if they are submitted in Ukrainian and distribute the printed version of the translation;
- distribute the electronic version of the article, as well as the electronic version of its English translation if the article was submitted in Ukrainian, by any electronic means, including publication on the official website of the journal, in electronic databases, repositories, and similar platforms.
- The publication of the author’s material in the collection of scientific papers “Educational Discourse: Collection of Scientific Papers” shall constitute confirmation of the distribution of rights between the Licensor and the Licensee.
- In the event of non-performance or improper performance of obligations under this Agreement, the Parties shall bear liability in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine.
- Disputes and disagreements that may arise in connection with the performance of this Agreement shall be resolved through negotiations between the Parties.
- In all matters not regulated by this Agreement and not contrary to its terms, the Parties shall be governed by the current legislation of Ukraine.

Publication Ethics and Editorial Policy of the Journal in Accordance with COPE Recommendations and Other Recognised International Organisations in the Field of Publication Ethics
The publication ethics and editorial policy of the journal are based on COPE recommendations and generally recognised international standards in the field of scholarly publication ethics.
In its activities, the Editorial Board adheres to international ethical standards of scholarly publishing, including academic integrity, confidentiality, responsible editorial oversight of publications, prevention of conflicts of interest, and other principles of good publishing practice. The Editorial Office follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics — COPE.
The Editorial Board adheres to the following principles of publication ethics:
- ensuring the fundamental principles of the journal: scholarly quality, objectivity, professionalism, and support for relevant innovative research;
- fair and impartial treatment of all participants in the creative and publishing process;
- application of blind peer review involving competent and independent reviewers;
- continuous consultation with authors regarding compliance with the requirements of international scientometric databases concerning the formatting, structure, and content of materials submitted for publication.
Decision-Making Regarding Publications
The decision to publish submitted articles shall be made by the editor. In doing so, the editor shall be guided by the editorial policy of the journal, the academic significance of the material, and the reviewers’ conclusions.
The editor is obliged to comply with standards aimed at preventing copyright infringement and plagiarism. Unpublished materials obtained during the manuscript review process may not be used by the editor in their own scholarly research without the written consent of the author. The editor shall also respond appropriately to ethical complaints concerning submitted manuscripts.
Manuscripts shall be evaluated exclusively on the basis of their intellectual and scholarly content, regardless of the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views.
Confidentiality
The editor and members of the Editorial Board shall not disclose information about submitted manuscripts, including information about authors, topics, texts, or other details. Each manuscript submitted for review shall be treated as a confidential document.
The editor and the Editorial Board undertake not to disclose information about manuscripts unless necessary, except in cases of interaction with authors, reviewers, academic consultants, and the publisher.
Resolution of Conflicts of Interest
Editors, reviewers, and academic consultants must recuse themselves from considering a manuscript if there is a conflict of interest arising from competitive, professional, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors, organisations, or companies associated with the submitted material.
The Editorial Office may consider appeals, complaints, or concerns regarding possible misconduct in research or publication submitted by readers, reviewers, or other persons in accordance with the Procedure for Handling Complaints Concerning Violations of Academic Integrity and Publication Ethics. The publisher also reserves the right to inform readers about the outcomes of resolving such situations.
Responsibilities of the Editorial Board, Reviewers, and Authors
The Editorial Board is obliged to:
- maintain respectful and appropriate treatment of the author and the author’s scholarly position;
- preserve editorial confidentiality;
- prevent misconduct during the processing of materials;
- refrain from making independent changes to the author’s text without the author’s consent and agree on the final version of the text with the author after editorial revision;
- refuse publication of materials that lack scholarly value, do not correspond to the subject area of the collection, contradict the editorial policy, contain plagiarism, or have already been published in other journals;
- ensure the involvement of independent, objective, and competent reviewers;
- apply the practice of double-blind peer review.
Reviewers are obliged to:
- consider all submitted manuscripts impartially;
- comply with the review deadlines established by the Editorial Office;
- treat the manuscript as a confidential document;
- refrain from sharing the manuscript with other persons;
- ensure the confidentiality of prepared reviews;
- refrain from using manuscript materials for personal purposes;
- provide an objective, reasoned, and appropriate assessment of the research results presented.
Authors are obliged to:
- guarantee the novelty, reliability, and originality of the research results;
- properly acknowledge materials by other authors with accurate references to the original sources;
- avoid excessive borrowing, plagiarism in any form, and self-plagiarism;
- confirm that the article is an original work that has not previously been published and has not been submitted to another journal.
By submitting materials for publication, authors agree that, if the article is accepted, it may be placed in electronic databases with mandatory attribution and full preservation of copyright.
All external sources of information used in the work must be properly indicated in the reference list, including the authors’ own previously published works.
Authors must properly format all borrowings as quotations or references.
If substantial errors or inaccuracies are identified in an already published work, the author is obliged to notify the editor and cooperate with them to correct the issue as soon as possible.
If the editor receives information from a third party indicating that a publication contains substantial errors, the author must correct these errors or retract the work as soon as possible.
Submission Declaration
The submitted work has not previously been published, is not under consideration by another journal, and its publication has been approved by all authors and by the responsible institutions where the research was conducted.

Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence and AI-Assisted Technologies
The Editorial Office of the journal is committed to ensuring that the use of artificial intelligence tools and other AI-assisted technologies does not violate the requirements of academic integrity, intellectual property rights, personal data protection legislation, or the principles of transparency, reliability, and the author’s responsibility for the content of the submitted work.
The use of AI tools is permitted for the following purposes:
- language editing, including checking grammar, spelling, style, and text structure;
- technical formatting of the manuscript, abstract, reference list, or tables;
- translation of the text, subject to mandatory verification by the author;
- auxiliary data analysis, visualisation, coding, or processing of materials, provided that the author is able to explain the methodology for using such a tool, verify the results, and, where necessary, provide the source data, parameters, or other supporting information.
The use of AI is not permitted for the following purposes:
- submitting text generated entirely or predominantly by AI;
- fabricating, falsifying, or distorting data, graphs, images, observation results, or other research materials through the use of AI;
- using AI to conceal plagiarism, unattributed textual borrowing, or other forms of academic misconduct.
If AI or AI-assisted technologies have been used, the author is obliged to disclose this fact when submitting the manuscript, indicating the method of generation and/or providing a reference to the relevant software or its description, in accordance with the requirements for the preparation and/or publication of the relevant academic works established by the competent academic body.
The disclosure shall be sufficient for the Editorial Office to understand the nature of such use and shall include: the name of the tool, service, or model; the purpose of its use; the stage of manuscript preparation at which AI was applied; the extent of its use; and confirmation that all results were verified by the author and that the author assumes full responsibility for the final text.
Example of disclosure:
“During the preparation of this article, the author(s) used [name of the tool/service] exclusively for [language editing / translation / technical formatting / auxiliary data analysis]. All results generated or processed using this tool were critically reviewed, edited, and approved by the author(s). The author(s) assume full responsibility for the content of the article.”
Editors and reviewers must not upload manuscripts, reviews, authors’ personal data, or other confidential materials to open or unverified AI services without appropriate guarantees of lawful and secure data processing. During peer review, priority shall be given to confidentiality, personal data protection, and the preservation of editorial confidentiality.
In the event of non-disclosure of AI use, submission of inaccurate information, or use of AI in violation of this policy, the Editorial Office may require explanations and revision of the manuscript, reject the manuscript, initiate an additional review of the material, publish a correction, or retract the article if substantial violations are identified after publication.
