Abstract

Relevance of the research. In the conditions of information culture, the emphasis is shifting from the understanding of art as a unique creative act and a mode of the artist’s self construction to the logic of effective functioning in the media space. Therefore, the study of artistic life-creation in the context of digital culture is relevant from both cultural studies and philosophical-anthropological perspectives.

Problem statement. Artistic life-creation acquires new relevance in the context of the challenges of digital culture, which creates new points of correlation between the creator and the creation, as well as new conditions for the artist’s existence, activity, and life-creation. This leads to a reconsideration of both the role of art in the contemporary world and the social and cultural status of the artist.

Analysis of recent reseafch and publications. Life-creation as a philosophical anthropological and socio-psychological concept is examined in the works of Ukrainian scholars such as L. Sokhan, N. Khamitova, M. Kultayeva, I. Stepanenko, A. Soshnikov, N. Radionova, L. Karpets, and others.

Research task. The objective of the article is to examine the phenomenon of artistic life creation through the prism of contemporary challenges of digital culture; to define the role and status of the artist in the contemporary digital environment; and to analyze the risks and opportunities for the creative development of a person who has connected their life path with art in the context of the principle of “kindred work.”

Main material presentation. The construction of the lifeworld encompasses all vectors of the cultural and social development of a community, which retains its local specificity even under the conditions of total informatization and globalization. Framing the issue in this way is also determined by the fact that any practices of life-creation, especially artistic ones, are impossible without creativity as a fundamental human capacity to produce the new, reinterpret existing experience, and create meanings of one’s own existence. Artistic life-creation may be interpreted as a special way of seeking beauty that goes beyond the purely aesthetic production of artistic objects. It should be noted that in Skovoroda’s tradition, beauty is understood as the attainment of harmony between a person’s inner nature and their realization in life. Thus, artistic life-creation may be understood as a spiritual path on which a person discovers and actualizes their own “affinity.” Artistic life-creation has a distinctly personalized character, since it is realized through figures for whom art is not merely a professional activity but a form of existential service to their people, culture, and their own spiritual calling.

Conclusions. Artistic life-creation is a multifaceted phenomenon whose worldview origins in the Ukrainian tradition are connected with H. Skovoroda’s philosophy of the heart and its orientation toward spiritual self-knowledge, “affinity,” and moral self-improvement. The strategic task of contemporary philosophy of culture and philosophy of art is to search for models of interaction between traditional and digital culture in which technologies will not destroy the anthropological foundations of art but will instead contribute to strengthening the creative potential of the human being as artist.
