Abstract
Relevance of the research. Recently, the scientific community and the public have intensified their efforts to address the issue of academic integrity. This process is driven by changes in legislation as well as transformational processes in Ukrainian higher education, which align with the state’s European integration vectors.
Problem statement. Academic integrity in the modern civilized world is an integral part of legal culture. In Ukrainian legislation, academic integrity is understood as ethical and legal principles and norms that should be guided by all participants in the educational and scientific process. The problem of observing academic integrity is made urgent by the modern rapid development of information technologies and the deepening of their use in higher education.
Analysis of recent research and publications. The issue of academic integrity has been widely covered in scientific literature in recent years. The works of domestic scientists substantiate that academic integrity is an ethical, moral, value, and legal basis for the effective functioning of higher education in Ukraine. Compliance with academic integrity is considered one of the important elements of the system of internal quality assurance of educational and scientific activities.
Research task. The purpose of the article is to analyze the formation of academic integrity in the context of the transformation of higher education in Ukraine, which is associated with the intensive integration of digital technologies and the informatization of all aspects of the educational process and scientific and research work.
Main material presentation. For Ukrainian society and higher education, the provision of academic integrity is characterized by a connection between historical cultural heritage and modern developments. Academic integrity is shaped through a series of international, national, and local regulatory initiatives. Today, all higher education institutions in Ukraine are implementing their own systems to ensure the moral, ethical, and legal principles of academic integrity. Academic integrity is expressed through norms, permissions, prohibitions, and sanctions, influencing the formation of professional ethics among educators and scientists.
Conclusions. Academic integrity is a concept that encompasses the ethical, normative, and ontological dimensions of the activities of higher education subjects. It appears not so much as a formal requirement, but rather as the result of a philosophical and legal discourse based on axiological and anthropological beliefs that contribute to the formation of their exemplary and expected behavior.
