Urgency of the research. Integration of physical into virtual, real-sensual into imaginary-digital, shift of emphasis from offline to online and etc. objectively state irreversible changes in almost all spheres of life: public administration, economy, energy, military industry, scientific and technological progress, national security, telecommunications and legal sectors, which transforms the information society into digital. It is undeniable that any transformations are characterized by an increase in a certain range of opportunities and are accompanied by an appropriate level of risks and dangers. Thus, the formation of the security dimension of civilizational changes in the context of social digitalization and determines the relevance of this scientific research.

Target setting. The emergence of the phenomenon of digital inequality, cybercrime, ideology of the hacker movement and the rapid development of high technology, artificial intelligence have led to the need to create safe conditions and appropriate protocols related to the humanistic, legal and moral side of this issue.

Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The security dimension of social change in the context of digitalization and multidisciplinary nature of this scientific field is considered in the works of the following foreign and domestic scientists: V. Voronkova, O. Karpenko, T. Myskevich, M. Hermann, K. White, F. Cruz-Jesus, T. Oliveira, F. Bacao, K. Schwab, G. Chmeruk, O. Kyvliuk and other famous scientists.

The research objective. To consider possible risks and theoretically justify the need to create a safe dimension of transformation processes in society in the context of digitalization.

The statement of basic material. The globalization processes associated with the fourth industrial revolution («Industry 4.0» - digital transformation) are gaining momentum in the context of social digitalization, which requires, in our opinion, the adoption of appropriate strategic management decisions and their implementation to prevent possible dangers. In addition to the institutional support of digitalization processes and the creation of a digital technology market, there is a need for motivated consumer activity of the "digital product" and both collective and personal awareness of the possible prospects and consequences of these transformations.

Conclusions. Modern transformation processes in society, associated with the digitalization of almost all spheres of human life, accompanied by a number of risks and dangers: cybercrime, blurring the boundaries between physical and digital security, digital inequality, etc., require scientific and theoretical reasoning and conceptualization of security dimension in the context of digitalization of society. Among the imperatives and potentially safe ways of digitalization are: standardization and institutionalization of digital dimension, the formation of digital culture and ethics of electronic-digital communication, modernization of training of programming and cybersecurity, implementation of national state policy and law in digitalization, creating favorable conditions for the digital economy and etc.
