Urgency of the research. Virtual reality has caused a certain sequence of socio-cultural changes, which have not ignored the educational dimension of human existence. The virtualization processes of the educational space are associated with a variety of factors already defined and can be effectively implemented in international educational activities only under certain conditions. Therefore, a retrospective analysis of this set of factors and conditions will allow optimizing international educational activities by means of virtual reality, as such, which exists within the framework of the existing reality, which produces it.

Target setting. The phenomenon of virtuality projects or programs reality, turning one reality into another and provokes the emergence of the virtual essence of reality. That is, there appears, so to speak, a virtual transition, which virtualizes the educational space and contributes to the evolution of educational processes in an international context.

Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. Considering the issue of virtualization of the modern educational system, we relied on the research presented in the works of such domestic researchers: V. Bykov, O. Hrybiuk, O. Dzoban, O. Kyvliuk, D. Kolomiiets, A. Kravchenko, A. Kudin, I. Chaika, V. Shtanko and others. The philosophical aspects of the virtualization of social, cultural, educational processes are highlighted in the following works: V. Afanasieva, T. Bacharova, M. Marazina, V. Sliusa- rev, K. Taratuty, M. Kheim, A. Shypitsyn and others.

The research objective. The purpose of this work is to undertake the retrospective analysis of the term and phenomenon of "virtual educational space" in the process of effective use of information and communication systems and concretization of the directions of international educational activities implementation in the Ukrainian context.

The statement of basic material. The retrospective analysis of the term and phenomenon of "virtual educational space" revealed the need to develop a theoretical model of using the virtual educational environment, identifying ways of its effective application, where the implementation of international educational activities is not an exception. In addition, the virtualization of the educational environment also causes a certain number of threats regarding the risks of functioning in the conditions of real society and the self-identity of the individual due to, so to speak, virtual transitions from one virtual reality to another and existence in reality.

Conclusions. The phenomenon of virtual reality, which led to the emergence of a virtual educational space, requires further research from the point of view of not only the philosophy of education, anthropology, technocracy, but also the theory of management in education. There is a certain contradiction between the scientific knowledge of the virtual educational space and the process of its implementation in educational practice. Therefore, under certain conditions, the virtualization of the educational space will contribute to the implementation of international educational activities.
